    Default VBOA guidance and information

As per this thread we've been granted guest access to VBOA Billing 2007. If you've never been to Billing before you're in for a very relaxing weekend.

VBOA Billing is not a show for those wanting to see big bass systems or people drifting their cars around some track. It's hosted on a campsite that is very tranquil and picturesque. It's what I call the 'Chill Weekend', and most people do make a 'whole' weekend of it, me included. I'll be travelling down on the Friday afternoon and staying til late afternoon on Sunday.

    What is there to see?
It's as you expect really there's loads of Vauxhalls, Bedfords and Opels on display, typically more than 2000 cars will be on display. These range from vintage right through to the present day. There's also an Autojumble of stands selling everything and anything Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel. If you look hard enough there is bargains to be had. This year VBOA is celebrating 100 years of Vauxhall Motors Ltd at Luton, so expect a display of some very special cars.

    Admission Price
Admission is £10 per car with up to six occupants, so it's very reasonable. If you want to camp over for the night it's £12.00 with a VBOA car pass per night and £18.00 per night without one. All fees are payable on admission to Billing Aquadrome.

    Stand car Passes
We only have 15 car passes this year as it's our first year, but if you don't get a car pass you can still attend and join in the activities. It really is worth the trip. VBOA will not tolerate any eratic driving or loud music, so please be respectful as you drive to and from our stand and please remember that you are representing Vectra-C.com. We also ask that your car is at least clean, we're not insisting of fully detailed cars, just clean please.

    BBQ
I'm hoping to have a BBQ on both days if someone wants to put themselves forwards to cook. We will require payment for this up front however as we don't want to buy food that doesn't get eaten. I'm sure Duncan will start a thread very soon.

I think that's about it, but if I think of anything more I'll add it later. If you have any comments to add about Billing please feel free to.

    Regards
    Alex

    Speeding
There is a strict speed limit this year of 5MPH around the entire Billing site which is enforced by speed cameras and mobile handheld units, BE WARNED.

I shouldn't need to say this but I will - 'Strictly Vectra C's and Signums only on our stand please'.

After passing the entrance huts stay left and follow the road round to the left.
You'll be directed over a bridge.
Once over the bridge stay right.
    We're just past the restaurant.
    X marks the spot.

As early as you can. I'm getting there about 3pm on Friday.

I'll confirm what time it opens to public but I reckon if all cars can be in position for around 8am both mornings we won't be far wrong. I'll check with the organisers tomorrow though.

I'd be up for some Friday night camp over as well.
Ok, silly question, but is the X the display area ?
Because unless they have changed the format/layout this year (which knowing VBOA I doubt) that is well out the way ?

Yes mate X marks the spot. That's where we've been told we are. The area is called Swans Field 2.
