Default Want a new head unit but...

... if I remove the VX unit will I still be able to use the Steering control to do the BC (MPG etc).

Also is there any other way of getting to the Settings without using the Head Unit??

you can get adapters for the steering controls for most major brand headunits.

and.... I don't think you can access the sound settings any other way that using the head unit.

I thought that would be so with the track and volume buttons on the wheel, but does that also apply to the BC button? I guess the steering wheel adapter would not cater for this as its not an audio control?

Thought so, don't use that button much anyway.

I've got an aftermarket HU, I decided not to bother with the steering wheel control adaptor as I hardly use them anyway.

But the scroll button for the trip computer DEFINITELY works - up, down and you can still press it to reset the values.

Only problem is you have to either reconnect your original HU twice a year to change the time, or live with the wrong time for 6 months a year!

And no, Vx use a syetem called quadlock...you'll need a wiring loom to connect to the ISO block on your new HU.
