It was the same story when the Mondeo Mk3 came out
I was vastly impressed by it
However, the engine is over simplified and unreliable
There are also problems and issues with warranty claims, so I still won't touch Ford

I was warned by my family when I was looking at the Mk3 Mondeo
I've been burnt, cost me £4500, and learnt my lesson

im afraid i dont like the styling mate was just reading about it in auto express and it looks huge, the saloon featured had optional 18" a\lloys fitted and they looked tiny in the pics,it does apparently drive very well but im a griffin man through and through and so i can say with hand on heart, no matter how good it is ill never have one sitting on my driveway! bring on the new vectra or indeed insignia as this is the name thats being touted about for the new car

OK, well I was at Mondeo Mania 07 today and there was two Brand New Ford Mondeo's... one of which has the new Radar technology and was the Titanium which I understand isnt going to be released until next year !!

....anyways..... even the guys who have been driving this new Mondeo told us that its huge... too big infact... hard to park.... the front end, headlights, grill, bumper.. basically everthing at the front is designed to crumple in at the slightest front end collision, so expect high repair costs.

The dashboard looks flash with its LCD screen built in between the speedo and rev counter, however, the steering wheel has two 'mouse' type buttons each side which control loads of menus on the LCD screen - well over complicated and fiddly.... recipe for a crash !!

I personally hate the styling, it looks horrible in the flesh... back end looks like a renault lagoona and the front looks like it was added on as an afterthought....

I really really really hope vauxhall do a better job !!

Ugly, tinny, uncomfy, but to name a few reasons I wont be going back to a Ford, used to have them by the bucket pre 87, I knew there was a reason I always had Vx since, and since getting my Skoda I've really been reminded why, not that the Skoda is bad or rubbish, I like it a lot, but the Vx type drive isn't there, or to put it another way the Skoda feels older than a Vx.

I like the front end, but not the back. Haven't seen one in the flesh yet though.

Had a 2.0 zetec Mondeo on a T plate. Very good, reliable car. Not massively exciting, but it did its job.

I nearly bought an 03 one as a stop gap the other week, right up until I drove it, tinny and heavy, not at all like it's outward image.
