    Default Insurance Time Again

A grey area I've not been sure on regards our SRI is it came out of the factory with Irmscher front & rear spoilers fitted as it was a demonstartor at the begining of it's life.
Therefore the question is has the car been modified or is this standard as it was supplied from the factory like this?
I feel it has been but to be honest last year didn't declare it. What do you reckon?

I'd put money on the old couple who did 3000 miles in two years of owning it before me were none the wiser.

In good faith you can say you the car is standard, why give'em more money than you have too?

The Irmscher spoilers are not standard on the SRi so the car has been modified.

At the end of the day it's your choice but personally I wouldn't give your insurer a get out if something was to happen.

Is it much of a difference in price? I declared upgraded wheels and a VXR Spoiler and by shopping around payed £64 less than last year.

I was looking at the front lower spolier for my SRi
The insurance company I am with (Groupama) advised there was no difference in premium, as it does not affect the performance and is an alternative fitting to the lower bumper guard

However, a week later my front bumper was smashed up by a fox!
The bodyshop advised me against the front lower spoiler as it is rather fragile and each replacement would be £250
I was looking to agree a swap on paying the difference, but decided against it

A friend of mine was asking about modifications on his insurance. They told him that if it wasn't performance enhancing then he didn't need to declare it as modified. Best bet is to rinf your insurance and ask them what their policy is. You don't need to say you've had it done, just thinking about it...

I doubt that those parts will affect your premium anyway. When I fitted Irmscher grill and front spoiler, just phoned insurance and they said fine no extra charge!
If you don't declare it and the worst was to happen, the insurance would only pay to put it back to standard, leaving the rest to you.
