CCR2006 CD problems

Hi everyone.

I have read other threads so far about using CDRs with the CCR2006.

What make works? Where can I get them from?

Also I have the Elite preface lift model. What usually is shown on the computer screen when playing Cds

When I have got it to play it just is blank.

Also I have been having major trouble with the CCr2006 playing any CD. (bought or burnt), I put the cartridge in and the screen doesn't show anything it stays blank until i select the radio.

Anyone??

When my CCR2006 detects a dodgy CDR it says error, I do get a lot of CDRs that skip, I've tried lots of different makes of CDR and it just seems to be a bit hit and miss.

The son of a friend of mine is in the top end HI FI business and said it could be because I am using 700 MB Cd's and that I should try 650 MB the thing is it's difficult getting hold of any 650 MB Cd's now days so I haven't been able to test them.

I haven't had any problems with bought Cd's though.

I have just looked at the cartridge and it has a screw missing.. :-(

I am assumng that i cannot get a new screw?

These cartridges come up on Ebay every now and then. Ive given up on mine and just use a cassette converter with my Sony Ericsson W850 mp3 mobile phone, it even doubles as a hands free when used with the converter and voice dialing.

Mine will come up with error when there is a problem. I have burnt many cd,s myself with nero and they play ok, but those that were saved in windows midia player they will not play even if they are burnt on the same make of cd, I don,t know if nero and midia player use a diffrent "language" that the 2006 can not read, hope this is some help to you.

Does your old cartridge have all the screws?

Would it be possible to meet up and try it??

How much would you want for it if it works on mine?

Your display will only show 'CD info' if the CD has info on it ie track name etc. Many commercial CD's don't include this info but it can be downloaded & included whilst burning CD's with Nero. If the CCR2006 recognises CD-R's then the info should then be displayed on the screen

CD players that have the CD text feature display that info. I use CD text when burning CD's but my CCR2006 doesn't display any info other than track number not even the length of track or time remaining, so it's pretty much a basic set.

How much does the stealer's charge for a new Cartridge?

If its broken is this covered under extended warranty?
