    Default Bluetooth handsfree

    Hi all,

I've come to the conclusion I need a hands-free kit for my 55 plate facelift Signum with CD70 Navi unit. Reading around it looks like the Parrot's are the best but I don't want to fit it myself.

So can anyone recommend any where in the south around Southampton (will travel for good service and price!) to get one installed.

I will avoid Halfords - but has anyone tried Carphone warehouse (do they fit them themselves or do they get a specialist in) as they have a deal at the moment for a 3200LS with free installation for £150.

Also has anyone tried the Parrot MultiCan so you can control it via the steering wheel?

    Thanks

    James

    Hi teilo

I can vouch for the parrot kit, I work for a company that distributes mobile phones and accessories and parrot is one of them along with Nokia Sony Ericsson and Motorola car kits. Im not going to say we never have any problems with parrot but compared to the other brands we have less returns and better compatibility with handsets and cars.

For fitting have a look at the following links….

    http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=121214

    http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=121214

I will say and it should go without saying get the installer to test the kit prior to installing, I get a couple of calls a week from resellers that have installed kits and didn’t test prior to fitting to find the kit has a fault…. Most companies will require the complete kit to be returned for a replacement rather than just the faulty item ie mic speaker control box….

    hope this helps

PS where in Southampton are you im in bursledon....

We are getting quite a few faulty parrot ck3200's at the moment as the screens just go blank.

The ck3100 seems more reliable although not as swanky lol

Also i think the multican thing only works on the CK3000 at the moment

Installed the CK3100 the other weekend.
Mostly pleased with it - just have a couple of minor issues
The screen polarisation is not uniform so when I've got my sunnies on the middle of the screen is black.
Can reliably hang it if I use voice dialing and hang up before the call has been connected.

Thinking of doing this myself Do all Vec C's have a VDA cable ? I thought with some you had to remove stereo and connect into there?

They dont all have one im afraid - its worth a look first! Remove glovebox torx screws & disconnect light if it has one. See if the plug is taped to the main bar running across. Im told sometimes its behind the left kick panel as well. It has a plug that would fit this:

otherwise you will prob need a lead like this with a PArrot adaptor on the end so no cutting etc is needed.
