hope you have a good one rich :-) maybe take a look around for a good place to park the cars for the august meet , and let me know ;-)
will do mate
it would be worth using the old fair ground site, its being used by Max`d car club this weekend for there meet.. just off the sea front on the left had side, opersite mac donalds, kfc and bowling alley. easy to find
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.003895&z=18
map of a large car park just of the front, with grassed area for kids, about 1 mile up from the sea front, and in view of the main road for onlookers to admire the Veccy C and Signums
looks promising lee as a meeting point !!
got to cleethorpes eventualy (3.5 hr trip due to weather) arrived at the site ''thorpe park'' to a security guard telling us the site was flooded ..not kidding, went up to the van anyway to check all was ok and had to drive through 6-8 inches of water at various stages , but made it there ok..
got changed and went out for a bite to eat down at an area now called ''the lakeside'' a few pics of this area for a meeting point for aug 11, had a good look around and found a car park nr the sea also called ''buck beck'' and then there is also a car park next to ''pleasure island'' (at the entrance to thorpe park), other than these places i'm not sure if the promenade will be ok as main car park is over a great distance and pay and display........
the ''lakeside'' has a small zoo and a great buffet type restaurant selling chinese/indian food and only £7.50 per adult all you can eat, great for those staying over night in aug. over the road is a KFC and MCdonalds and a few pubs in the area too.....
got a few pics of this trip and a few of pottential meeting places for aug...put a few flyers about too as i remembered to put them in my car..
all in all not a bad trip and looking forward to going again in august (btw for those interested it was a 210 mile round trip frm nottm and used 1/3 tank of diesel or about £20 ish)
the sea front varies at the weekend, if there is a glint of sun , then parking become differcult.
the fifth pic is roughly where i found on the map, with maccy D and KFC over the road
theres a max`d car club meet tomorrow, roughly the same area, will have alook at what it is like with aload of cars there
