    Default Light knob push????

I have noticed that the Main head/side light on/off knob on the right hand side pushes in.

I couldnt see a reason for this or any impact when i did it.

    Anyone figured it out??

    It disables the light

If the light was on when you pressed it, the light would go off.... If it was off then it would appear to do nothing.....

It would be usefull if you had to have the door(s) open for a prelonged period I guess

No, it doesn't disable the light, it's used to release the switch unit.

If you push the knob in, and whilst held in, turn it to the sidelight position the switch unit will release the lugs that hold it in and will shoot backwards. Then you can grab the knob and pull the switch unit out. It will also reveal a Torx screw in the trim that then enables you to remove the trim around it.

lol - I was wondering what you were meaning. I thought you were thinking of what the Cavs used to have, where the interior light worked off pulling or pushing the headlight knob.

lol yep, me too. First time I drove a Cav (SRi 130 - okay, thrashed a Cav ) I must have pulled out the knob when turning on the lights and turned on the interior light, but hadn't realised why. Couldn't work out why the light was on and how to turn the damn thing off - so I ended up driving for ages in the dark with the interior light on. Finally pulled over as it was annoying me so much and looked at the manual and sussed it!

LOL I borrowed a friends Nova once and it took me about half an hour to work out how to switch on the rear window demister, IIRC the fan speed switch pulls out for that !!

Back to the Veccy C, once when I was getting in I managed to hit the main light switch with my knee and the whole switch unit pushed into the dashboard by about 50 mm or so. I assume this is for safety reasons if you crash ? it pulled back into the correct position and works ok !
