    Default Installing a Toad alarm!

    Bit of a long shot this, but has anyone ever fitted a TOAD A850 overlay alarm to a car? I'm trying to fit this to my Corsa and they don't provide installation instructions if you're not an approved installer.

    I'm not fussed about the warranty and I'm not declaring it to the insurer as being fitted, I just want to put the thing in for my own peace of mind. Only problem is there are about 1,000 wires coming out the thing! Once I know what each wire is I know where to connect them on the corsa!!

    is there anytink on the net i did this will a clifford concept to a corsa B and the best way i found was via a clifford website/ forum

    all thatcham approved alarms have single colour cables, they are identified on the very end of the cable, so that once installed it's harder for a heif to identify the cables as you normally cut the end to length.
    Check there isn't anything printed on the very end of the cable......

    Thanks for the well-wishes Baz, I think I might need them!

    I've been on another forum for installing car alarms and I think I've got it sussed. The problem is there are 25 wires I need to connect (or not connect!) and I just want to be sure.

    It's a bit easier than fitting other alarms as the A850 is an update alarm for cars with central locking/immobiliser fitted as standard (i.e. I can use my existing remote as it is armed/disarmed directly from the central locking).

    The worst bit (perhaps) is the cobra window closure module I got from ebay - that is just a black box with 7 pins numbered 1-7. If anyone knows anything about that I would be well chuffed!!

    Thanks for the tip armstma, only thing is my cables are every colour under the sun! It's like a ****** rainbow!!

    Thanks Chris! I know it's a laserline, but the instructions help confirm some of the wires I have confirmed.

    It's been a bit difficult working it out as all the instructions I have found are setup to operate the central locking from the alarm. The A850 uses your existing CDL mech, so it only needs an arm/disarm signal from that and does not provide a pulse itself. I'll crack it by jove!!
