Hotmail Question

Does anyone know why there is a 'sent' box in hotmail, but there doesn't appear to be an option to save sent mail - so it is always empty...

when you write a new email there is a little tick box at the bottom asking if you would like a copy saved in your sent messages.

Ahhh, never seen that before. So there is no option to save sent messages as a permanent fixture?

no permanent feature as far as i know, it's pretty annoying really as i never remember to tick the box on emails i want to save.

i only found it a few weeks ago.

If you have a Hotmail.com account to can attach it to Outlook or Outlook Express and then in outlook choose to save all your sent items.

Yep, as Alex said you can add a Hotmail account to Outlook and use it that way - although they charge you for the ability to do that (you need to sign up to Hotmail Premium or whatever it's called). As I'd opened up my Hotmail account before a certain date and already added it to Outlook (for free) then I didn't subsequently get charged - handy!

I've had my Hotmail account for years so mine was free too

Sometimes if you keep trying it does let you attach a .com account to Outlook, but never a .co.uk

To save sent messages permanently:
If Using Windows Live Hotmail (If not you can upgrade for free here: http://www.newhotmail.co.uk/):
Log into Hotmail
Go to your Inbox
Select Options
Select More Options
In the 'Customize your mail' section select 'Save sent messages'
choose 'Save all sent messages in the Sent items folder'
Click Save
