    Default Racing start.

I bought a Honda S2000 style "push to start" engine ignition button yesterday. Not every ones taste but I like them.

I have just thought...bummer! will it fit and work without all the tech 2 mallarky.

Can any one on here help me with that before I receive it and start to fit the thing with a dissapointing out come. Thanks

You will have to wire it through the ignition switch. Ie, turn the ignition switch to pos II and then push the button to start. The push button would have the crank signal input wiring through it.

Personally I don't see the point, as you need to put the keys in anyway. Seems like a waste of time, money and effort - but each to their own.

Now if it was like my mates Megane CC, ie fully integrated - he just needs to have the 'key card' in his pocket and then push the start button to start and to stop, that would be a different story. But it will never be like that, so why?? Oh, and he just pushes and releases, doesn't have to push and hold till the engine fires.

Thanx for your comment Ste. However what I am trying to find out is if the system will require Tech 2 to ensure it works. Some one on here must be able to help me out.

GG's wasn't a start button as such, it was remote start from his alarm fob.

I thought my comment above clearly described how to do it, and therefore the push button was simply emulating the crank position of the key, so no tec 2 required.
