Default How do I tell if it's a Direct??

Hi all just after some advice..

Finally found the perfect veccy for me *i think* Its a 2004 2.2 SRI which I'm assuming is the Direct model. Due to haveing parts of the irmscher body kit on it, there is no "Direct" badge however it has the twin exhausts. However whenever I put the registration into any insurance quote jobbies it comes up with Vectra SRI 2.2 and doesnt mention "direct" anywhere. This is also the same in the log book.. My question is really how can I be 100% sure that it is a direct ? The garage is asking £6995 with 51k on the clock. It has some awesome 18inch alloys on it and has been lowered + had an airfilter fitted and windows tinted. However the rest of the engine is standard. Parkers says £6600 is their recommended price for a standard 2.2 direct with this milage so if I can guarantee that this is a direct I was going to say I would pay the asking price if a complete new set of *good* tyres was fitted and a new MOT was done. Does this sound good to you guys or should I haggle for more discount ?

Also what tyres would you recommend I ask for ? and how much should it cost to get a single alloy refurbished as one has a slight mark on it?

Sorry for long post and lots of questions.. just want to get this right

PS: I've got a free RAC check to be done on it (one of their £170 jobbies) as I took the loan with them.

    Thanks in advance

A direct has twin exhausts (although some owners have retrofitted them).

I'd say that car is slightly overpriced. I'd be looking at at least £250 off, especially if you haven't got a p/x.

hmm just done a vehicle check on the reg number and its come up with bhp of 144 which is what parkers says is the bhp of a "2.2 SRI" whereas a 2.2 SRI Direct is 152... could be possible then that the previous owner fitted the twin exhaust himself... any other ways i can check ? Below is a paste of the info from the HPI check...

Engine code says Z22SE so its not the direct. I have a 53 plate 2004 2.2 and its the same as the one listed above. Its a good motor though mate.

When you lift the bonnet there should be a black cam cover which is under the plastic engine cover. The normal 2.2 has an alloy cover. Plus if you click this link http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ use the vehicle inquiries button put in the details of the car, the Co2 should be below 206 grams for a Direct manual trans.

The Co2 is too low for a Z22se in that read out!
