Is it normal for the paint to start peeling on the front bumper under the bonnet and headlight? just curious to see if anyone else has this problem?

sounds like it's been resprayed at some time.... is it the clear laquer or is it the base coat as well??..if it's well keyed it won't flake off at all
I had it on my 52 plate astra. This was after a respray. They tried to tell me it was due to stone chips and would not pay out. I pointed it out it was only in one area yet the whole bumper had stone chips on they agreed the lacquer was dodgy and repainted it.
Ask at the dealer under the paint warrenty but they will probably say its due to stone chips and water lifting the paint.
seems to be i have the same thing as you on mine its just under the headlights it is th clear coat
Looks like its just the laquer, I'm not overly bothered as my new bumper should arrive this week, just thought it was odd that this one has started peeling but its slowly moving along the top of the bumper.
once the laquer starts to lift, it'll just carry on running.....the fix is a respray, but if you've got a new one coming then not to worry..
yep.. if it's new don't touch it as even the oil from your clean hands will upset the paint keying..2nd hand bumpers need thoroughly cleaning with panel wipe before even getting near the spray booth..
use a good local painter..as a guide my guy charges £80 for a full sprayjob on a bumper..less for trade
