Default Roof Spoiler on hatch back

Just finished spraying the above item and want to fit it on tomorrow. What I want to know is are there any tips on doing this. It is the one that bonds to the rear window. I have fitted plenty of body kits before to this and other cars but never bonded any thing to glass before.

Do I need to do any prep to the glass?
How long does the bond take to go off?
Do I tape it into place once located?

Any help would be much appreciated I have seen a few other members with this spoiler on here before, I think it is the same as the one Big Phil has.

    Thanx.

    hi m8

the glass in were its getting bonded to needs cleaning then a glass primer
sealer which shud really be supplied with the spoiler if its an irmscher
spoiler, have you not got the instructions etc that comes with the
spoiler, the bonding when applied will take approx 6 hrs to set properly
but i`d fit it on in the evening then leave it over night or if your not going
to use the car in the day then fit it on in the morning and then leave it to
set all day, best way to secure it is use the wide masking tape to hold it in
    place.

Thanx for that mate. I have no instructions or glass pre bonding stuff. The info you have given is brill. I will be doing it in the morning and the car will not be used for 24 hours. I have some thinners that I can ensure no grease or glass polish remains before I begin. I also have a roll of thick masking tape that I will use to hold it in place for the whole period.

The spoiler is one of the ones from Poland off of e-bay. A bargain at £50 delivered.

i would recommend, that you key the bottom of the spoiler, so that the adhesive has something to bond too........i failed to do this on my first attempt and a month later found it had slid down to my boot......second time has been a success.i have the jdl roof spoiler too. good luck and dont forget to post some pictures
