    Default Headlight Scratched

While parked yesterday someone decided to collide with my 06 veccie and drive off leaving me with a fist sized dent in the drivers wing and a scuffed bumper and headlight. I was not amused.

G4 cutting compound took the worst of marks off the bumper and wing and I tried it on the headlight and it took away the light scratching leaving me with several deeper scores.

The wing and bumper are getting repaired on Tue, but I need a suggestion on a good way to repair the head light as it is a xenon unit and I cannot face the thought or cost of replacing it at the moment.

    Cheers

    Dave

You could try sanding in with a high grade emery paper (1200 or higher) lubricated with washing up liquid & water then polish it with brasso this worked a treat on the light chips I had on mine (caused by 101k miles). try a little bit of the scrach first to make sure you get the required result.

I've seen it but its more or less the same thing as brasso, we nearly got some for our caravan untill we saw the price & read about brasso on the caravan forums, The emery paper will make the scrach the same level as the rest of the cover, Then the brasso is a very fine polish to get rid of the emery marks.

remember to mask the paintwork off, or remove the unit first :
