Does someone uses the Thule Rapid System 750 roof bars, the ones that does not use the fixing points on the car?
I bought a cheap set second hand with 2 bike carriers included, but I wonder if they are safe for the paint and door rubbers?

Had them on my old Beemer and went all the way to south of france and back with them. Got roof rails on the vec and thule bars for the top box but can't comment on how they work with the siggy. Thule stuff is generally top class, though
no one else?
I don't think roof bars and boxes are as popular over here to be honest. Not with people who would post on an owners club forum anyway...
I have just this afternoon fitted Thule bike carriers to my Vauxhall bars. I had a trial load of bikes to make sure I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Got to say even with probbly the best option of OE roof bars and a top brand carrier I'm still a little concerned but we'll see how things go and I dread to think how good cheaper ones are.
I used a set regularly with an overloaded roofbox on my hatchback for a few years. Probably did 6-7000 miles backwards and forwards to the South of France at "a bit" over the speed limit like it.
No problems at all other than some increased noise.
Hope that helps....
