Default Noisier engine since fitting CRD2?

Had a CRD2 fitted for a few months now and as I have said in many threads and posts here since, I'm chuffed to bits with the performance increase.

However, I cant help but feel the engine has experienced a slight increase in noise, certainly when its ticking over and you listen to it from outside the car?.

It might just be me though, I cant really remember if it was as noisy before.

Its just the wife commented on it the other day saying "When is the car due its next service, it sounds a bit noisy to me?".

Which got me thinking...........is it or not?.

Anyone else had anything similar after fitting a tuning box or having a remap done?.

I always thought the engine sounded 'rougher' or 'noisier' once the CR1 tuning box had been put on... and when I took the Tuning Box off, it sounded quieter...

Anyway, forget all that noise nonsense.. if it goes like a rocket, its gotta sound like one as well !!

I've noticed it seems a bit smoother on idle with the crd2 Map1 + 1.

The airbox mod makes the engine louder. Did you do this mod at the same time, it may be that.

you should hacve a "blanking plug" to remove the CRD2. try running it without.

Don't have a blanking plug on the caterman special.
Too much like hard work to remove it from the 120, a little extra noise I can live with, after all its doing more work now :-)
