If you wanted one of these and you saw these pictures would you be confident you were going to see a nice clean straight car?
I did just that yesterday, travelled 12 hrs on a coach, and then 6 more back on the railway.
When I arrived to view the car I was all pumped up that I was going to have this sitting outside my house today all kitted out and ready to work again, and that's where it all went wrong.
Bumpers, doors and the rear were all quick fix resprayed, 4 different brand budget tyres on it, numerous door edge chips on the doors that had been touched in, so I know the dealer hadn't done the repairs to the body, mechanically things weren't any better, as soon as I set off in it there were noises coming from underneath it, the seat belt didn't recoil and there was oil on the engine cover, not sure if this was top up spill or pressure related, but even if it was just top up spill it doesn't say much for whoever topped it up does it, at this stage I decided I couldn't risk the money on it and walked.
To sum it up, I really wanted this car and if you look at the pictures you'd think it was mint, I haven't left reg numbers and blanked the dealer out because he has said he'll refund my deposit and didn't get all nasty about things, added to that his other cars on show all looked way better in the flesh than this one did, and I'm prepared to put this one down as a rogue that he bought unseen, but do be careful if you are going a long way to see what looks good in a picture, as I found out I wasted a day and a £120 in costs.
