    Default Network Q Warranty surprise

Meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot.
My 3 year warranty was up in April, and I didn't want to be without any cover -and I needed breakdown cover anyway. I did a bit of looking around, and Warranty Direct seemed pretty good, but their were a few moans on the forums about them. They also have an interesting product which covers everything, including servicing, but it's expensive.
I was umm-ing and aah-ing about what to do, when I thought to call Network Q, although I hadn't extended the original warranty past the first year. They thought about it for a while, then said they'd take it on, as long as the car had less than 50,000 miles on it -I think there are a few other limitation's like ICE equipment, but it's still a good solution, for about £50 a month including European recovery and MOT insurance, and Network Q are at least a known quantity, who will deal with the dealer direct.
So, that's sorted then! I'm still a bit surprised they took it on, but pleased.

thought your car was an 05 plate u should have another years warrenty still left.
id a thought £600 was a bit steep but not knowing wot others charge id guess its about average.
as for the mot cover bit 95% of covered items are allready covered by the Q warrenty.

Mine's nearly 4 years old now and in this year of network Q warranty I've had £700 worth of work done- 2 rear shockers, new cim, new front pads and discs. Net Q brilliant with the fact that no labour is charged ( RAC only pay £32 an hour and you have to make the rest up) but is £600 a year worth doing on a car so new? Mind you Net Q a lot better than ordinary Vx warranty................................

The car's April '04 plate, so 3 years old. It may be expensive, but I need the car for my job -and I'd soon spend that amount (and more!) if the car were to break down on one of my many trips to the continent!

It's different strokes for different folks. I'd rather pay up front and know that, no matter how big the bill is, someone else is going to pay, rather than be hit with a bill for a couple of grand after something expensive breaks.

Holy ****, they must have huge glass windows, because they saw you coming a mile off!

NetworkQ sucks anyway. Only thing I ever got out of them was a set of front discs and pads. Every other issue "wasn't covered".

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

Found out last week that NetworkQ has also dropped the AA breakdown cover that use to come as standard on used cars - they now offer it as a seperate policy from £39 upwards....

My new policy comes with AA included. Like I've said, before people started accusing me of being stupid for paying that much, all I want is the security that I can get my car fixed if it breaks, without coming on here with the all-too-familiar, "my left hand hoople grommet has broke, it's gonna cost £xxx to fix, and I can't afford it".
I'd rather pay up front than get a massive bill later on.

    Phil
