Got so many photos again gonna break this down into days...
Friday.
Picked up The Gopher and my camping gear after work. Took Ryan to the pub for a few hours and watched the football.
Saturday.
We got up about 7am and packed the car. Headed off just before 8 to meet up with Plasma and Soulman on the M25, plan was i'd ring before I hit the tunnel and they'd leave Ian's to catch us just after. Well the snot rocket must be just too fast as they didn't catch us up until after the roadworks with the Specs cameras
From there we convoyed up to Toddington Services to meet up with a few others including Mark & Cara. We got there first and as we had Plasma with us, we headed straight for breakfast as he was starting to waste away...
Met up with the rest of the gang, M&C, Harry, Comedy Dave and family.
Whilst in the shop I noticed a toy that might complete the Wonky Ratchet, no pub is complete without a dart board so I picked up a game of giant garden darts
So, we headed off for the campsite at about 10.30, going across country as there was a problem on the M1. C's Pratt Nav threw a little wobbly on a new section of road, but we all got there ok.
Nice camp site, flat field without ruts and looked pretty quiet. Alex was already there as were a few of the Vx Pirates, also GG with his quirky fold up caravan...
Tents and the Wonky Ratchet were put up in record time, think we all need our Scout tent badges now as we're getting so good at it Vectra C tent building team must be the quickest in the land by now
So with the main bulk of the tents built it was time to start chilling out, popped to the camp site shop, which is quite well supplied, plenty of beers to choose from at reasonable prices
Gradually the rest of the campers arrived and the tent teams went to work to help get everyone up and chilling asap. The beers began to flow. First of 2 small problems cropped up then though, some guys with Vec B's turned up set themselves up quite close, then started playing with there subs and annoying the camp regulars, which ended up with a warning from the camp that we could all be kicked off! Suffice to say that they had a visit from a couple of our lads, just to say 'hello' and admire their 'still intact windscreens'
Had a little play with the darts which provided enough amusement to justify the space in the car
Some of the guys decided to wash their cars, a bad thing it turned out as we had another visit from the management...this was all sorted out with a touch of diplomacy from Mark and so we could then chill out again with the GSi's BBQ at the Wonky Ratchet now in full swing. Ably assisted by a couple of volunteers, M&C hosted yet another fantastic Vectra C evening.
Can't thank Mark and Cara enough for their wonderful generosity and kindness, they are truely great people and fantastic friends.
We finished the evening in typical Vec-C style, big circle and plenty of beer and hillarity. I love these evenings with you guys, long may they continue
Sunday's report will be up later tonight or tomorrow morning
