As some of you know, when Spikey had to sell his car, it was bought by my mother in law who's loved, cherished and looked after the car like no other she's ever had..

..only for this to happen..

Every one is okay and the vectra was empty at the time as she'd parked it on her drive a few minutes before..the driver of the jaguar was removed to hospital, suspected DUI..

So the end of an Era for Vectra-C..Another of our well know long standing members cars is no more, and it's a testament to their strenght that even though the Jag actually LANDED ON the vectra the passanger compartment is still intact..

She's now actively looking for her next one.. and i think we've found it..

Glad shes ok Mark, it just goes to show how many ppl are prepared to disregard everyone else safety to save a few quid getting home from the pub.

Just noticed you said it was parked and empty so thats one good thing I suppose, tell Cara's mum to ask for a loan car straight away she'll be entitled to one and ask for whatever she wants, like for like and so on.

How in Gods name do you manage to do that on what looks like a straight road! The damage to the car is obvious... I trust that the house is OK too?

It is really sad to see the old girl demolished like this. But, at the end of the day I'm just thankfull that no-one was in her at the time, having said that, from what Mark says if someone was inside, due to the Vectra's now almost legendary safety they would probably have walked away with just a few cuts and bruises.

I hope MIL finds a new beast to love and that the house is sorted soon, pass on my best wishes please mate.

That's awful - glad that no-one was in the vectra at the time. Hope they throw the book at the driver that parked the jag so carelessly

Mum's OK, a little shaken and she didn't really calm down until yesterday but Dad got her out of the house over the weekend. The thing that was upsetting her on Saturday was the amount of times she had to repeat the story to the insurance company, about 6 times to separate people.

As said Mark, so sorry to see this, but so glad everyone is OK and it looks like the Vectra was guarding and saved the house !!

I said to Diana, how spooky it was that Spikey's car turned up at Grasshopper. I dont know if people believe in destiny, but looking back it was like it was saying goodbye to Neil !!

Hope all gets sorted soon with the new car...

i saw the snaps that you took on your mobile, but the pictures abpve show the true horror, a hell of a lot of damage, didn't realise the front end had taken such a bashing either!

but as you say, it's testament to the vectra's build if the passenger compartment is still in shape.
