Default Why can't I get cheap insurance...

    Hi,

I'm 25 years old, have had a license since I was 18 and 7 years no claims. I drive an unmodded 2004 Vectra 1.8 Elegance which I keep on my driveway in Staines.

So far I've been unable to get a quote which is less than £600. I have got 6 points on my license, but I've put quotes through without these and found that they only make up about £70 of that.

Anyone got any ideas for me? I really feel like I'm getting ripped off here, I was always told insurance would get cheaper when I turned 25. I know they are worried about idiot drivers (which apparently are ALL young men... I don't think so, discuss...) but I've never had an accident!

its all down to post codes (they go with how many claims are made in the post code u live)

    ie:- age of person
    length of no claims
    car insurance group
    post code

all these make up your premium.

u could try and up your access to the maximum that might lower it.

and shop around i get quotes from at least 20 companys.

Move to N. Ireland, then you'll think £600 is cheap.

I was always told "dont worry, once you hit 21 your insurance comes down", then at 21 I was told "dont worry, at 25 your insurance starts to come down", then at 25, "by 30 premiums seem to level out"

Basically, its a con, they all get you for as much as possible.
For myself and the wife on a 56 plate Note SVE Dci it cost £500, I'm 29, she's 27, both clean liscence with no accident history, sucks eh?

I think living in staines might have something to do with it. Try confused.com with a different postcode to try and prove it.
