    confused Air Box Mods...... little question for you all

    I have the K&N filter ...... but Im unsure as to what to do as far as the airbox mods go..... seen the how 2's and there are obviously 2 bits you can do...

    The bit at the bottom and the the bit at the top of the airbox...... which one should I do ? or should I do both

    I would just do the bottom one just unclip it then reset your ECU

    Just disconnect the battery for about 15 mins. The ECU will then learn the new characteristics of the air filter.

    hurrah for you !! thanks peeps, so none of you advise doing the adjustment to the top part of the airbox then ?

    I'd leave that on mate, the "trumpet" is tuned by length and actually affects torque I am led to believe.

    do you need to reset the ecu??? noticed on my 1.9cdti 150 there was a slight differance....without reset

    It was a tip a from a company that remaped a few members cars. It gave Big Phil's GSI and extra 15bhp straight of the bat. He had fitted a free flowing Zorst and filter, but they only started to perform after the reset.

    i tried all the stages of this mod ! just panel filter then cut off bottom inlet and finally removed the trumpet ! which gave me better throttle response and brought the fuel economy up above 28 mpg which was a first for my alcoholic 2.2 SRI !! it may effect other models differently ? but mines definately better with the full mod done !
