Default Damn and Blast... Another respray needed...

Whilst valeting the car the other day, Harry and myself noticed a small (fingernail size) flake of laquer missing on the offside front wing !!

For some reason the laquer has decided to peel away from the paint on the very edge by the drivers door...

Took it back to the dealer today, and he appologized and immediatelly said 'book it in, its got to be redone !!'

So.... whilst at PVS, dont get picking !!!, I know about it !!!! lol

Its booked in again on the 13th June

Bizarre - I just spotted the same when washing and waxing my car this afternoon. Doesn't sound as big as yours (it's literally just a bit of lacquer starting to lift) but also the drivers side wing, the very edge by the door.

I'm sure its because of the 3M detailing tape that was there for the polishing... When we pulled the tape away, it must have either weakened or pulled the laquer up....

However, it hasnt happened anywhere else on the car, so the above is just speculation... !!

(No intended or implied blame Harry, just an observation... )

I`ve got the same problem on my rear bumper from when the car was hit from behind by a new driver.Only came to light when the car was mopped last week. Will be ringing the crash repair centre for a respray AFTER PVS.

well considering it wasn't (or should that be WAS, the lacquer that is ) there before the tape, it must've been caused by that. but it must've been weak to begin with as the whole car was covered in tape and that wing was the only one that suffered.

glad the dealership are sorting it......phew!
