Eek My cars an animal ... apparently

Mates got a bluefinned mondeo 130 ps , and as i was blocking it in and he wanted to go to the shops i said take my car , he came back with a huge grin and said "bit of an animal that" agreed on the handling being a bit shiney an (vaux trip next week and bodyshop)
But then said he reckons the mondeo could stick with it , so on the way home , off of one road onto a dual carrage way side by side florred both cars mid bend , the vec lit the front tyre in 3rd loosing ground to the mondeo , roads strightend got 4th pulled level gave him a wave and pulled away

If there were corners my car would have no hope , but he was bragging that blue fin was better than my resistor in a box , in a stirhgt line thrap it left it for dead , not sure if it would a 2.2 mondy though .....

he did like my cars "smack round the head" power delivery as well ....

My experience of the Mondeo Diesels is they're nippy but they don't hold onto the power for very long. I've driven the 115ps and 130ps varients; I can't comment on the 155ps.

Your Vec was always going to have the legs on it on a dual carriageway matey, but as you say you'll have to work hard to keep up with it in the twisties. Good work fella.

i agree with you about the 130 ps engine, my pug 307 xsi hdi 136 had the same engine but with an extra 6 bhp. After 4000 rpm the power just died off. It had the turbo over boost feature which temporaily gave you an extra 20 lbs of torque when you put your foot down which made it feel a bit quicker. Much prefere the power delivery of my 2.2 dti. Fare enought it aint got that sudden urge like my pug had but at least the power is there virtually upto the redline.
