Default anyone tried the +80% bulbs?

Introducing the new world champion in high performance headlamp upgrades. Philips X-treme Power bulbs deliver up to an astounding 80% more light than standard halogens, yet they’re fully road legal and come with the same quality and performance put into the lighting Philips sell to OEMs around the world. X-treme Power is a new “must-have” for tuners and high performance drivers.

Here's what Auto Express have said:

"Philips' latest bulb was so new, we could not randomly select test samples, so couldn't include it in our assessment. Yet the performance of the pre-production unit was staggering. Even compared with the current benchmark plus 50 per cent bulbs, the difference was immediate and dramatic. Philips claims an 80 per cent improvement over standard units, but we think that is conservative."

"The results have been achieved in the same way as the 30 and 50 per cent lamps – by taking the allowed tolerances right to the edge. This time, though, as well as reducing the filament and burning it hotter, Philips has shrunk the glass casing."

"As a result, the gas pressure can be increased for better light output. Engineers have also optimised the geometry and shield position to focus the light where it is needed."

    PRICE PER PAIR
    Details

    Price: £32.99 (€ 49.52)

Sounds like a really good option....I wonder if thay can be fitted into the projector type headlights such the ones ia a Vec. This because they run hotter. Also they don´t mention what type of color they deliver, I´ll imagine they´ll be around 4000 Kelvin....like the Blue Vision ones.

excuse me for being confused, but are you actually selling these bulbs??.. or is this a cut and paste from an advert for them?..

if it's a selling thread, then we'll have to remove it...its against trading rules on this site...

or , if it's just a cut n paste, could you just drop the pricing the next time??..

Default first reviews of + 80% bulbs

here a couple of reviews i found on the skoda forum

"Just fitted the new Xtreme power bulbs to my octy HOLY SH#T

I had the already amazing Vision Plus fitted which were 50% brighter than std but these Xtremes 80% are just awsome, theres so much white light and atleast another 20ft on dipped 50ft on full of white usable light than even the vision plus had, it makes up for £30 price for the pair.

The good thing about philips is there still 55/60w bulbs which are legal and no warping of plastic lenses that higher wattage bulbs do, and would have to say are probobly alot better than those types anyway.

I believe these are the closest you'll get to HID according to latest industry tests

Only available just now in either H4 or H7 but other types to follow

bought mine at Essport in dunfermline for anybody local to the area"

"Ive been using the philips extreme purchased from powerbulbs for about two or so months now and i agree they are brilliant

Ive used the 50% extra bulbs many times before and not noticed that much difference in the light emitted but the extreme`s you really do notice

There was no info i could find on the expected lifespan of these bulbs but i would expect them to be of similar lifespan as a regular H4/H7 headlight
as they dont use any more power or burn hotter its all in the way they are made

All i can say is after two months mine are still as bright as when i fitted them but its probably not long enough yet to be able to say for sure whether
they will dim significantly over time"

Think I'm going to try these
