yep, it's a sad design flaw...i open a wet bootlid about 8 inches to first let the water run off before opening it right up, then the water stays in the gutters and not in the boot..

he means by water shooting off the bootlid into the boot when you open it.. not by leaky seals mate..

I have to admit, it sounds like something you removed to fit the rear parking sensors has created the problem, might be worth double checking all fittings and fixtures are correctly aligned.

you've fell for the same way of thinking.....

it's not a strange waterleak he's suffering.. it's how the water shoots into the boot when you open it and the glass is rain covered.....one of VXs finest design flaws..

the parking sensors are factory fitted
When the boot is lifted , the water runs of the window and instead of running down the gutters , it is running into the boot...The rubber seals are all intake.
As suggested above the best way to stop this is to open it slightly and let the water run off before opening it fully...
    Thanks for feed back all

Giving the rear wiper a sweep before hand helps as well, my poor dog cowers in the corner when I open it in the rain as she has learned she is in for a soakin *lol*
