    Default Help wiring fog lights

    Hi guys,
I'm just waiting for my SRI front bumper to be finished at the painters, then i'll fit it.
Instead of getting the standard SRI fog lights, I thought I'd try something different, and see what some aftermarket ones would be like.
    I got these:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/02-09-VAUXHALL...QQcmdZViewItem

They arrived today, and look ok. Nice blue shine to them. Don't know what they'll be like when they're fitted... Thats where you guys come in.

I'll need to wire these up to my standard non-SRI fogs as a replacement.
The new foglights come with a few wires, and a wiring diagram, and can be fitted to car that don't have foglights as standard. I do have the non-SRI foglights fitted, but need to wire these up to the existing loom as a replacement.

Does anyone know if I can run this directly into the existing loom (with some cutting and joining) or will I have to wire them up from scratch, and use the exisiting switch in the dash? These come with a switch, but it looks s##t.

The fogs aren't a perfect fit into the fog surrounds, but that can be sorted easy enough.

Any help with the wiring would be appreciated. I'm quite good with wiring, but if anyone know exactly what to do, that'll be excellent.
I'll let you guys know how they go...

    Dan

Thanks, I saw that thread, but I was wondering if there is a way to use the wiring that is already in place with the fogs I already have, and just change the fog unit...

I'll have to have a play around. Got to wait for my bumper to finish being painted, then I'll have a look at it, and post my feedback - with pics

Yeh it was fast delivery. Took 7 days from payment.. including bank holiday weekend. They mark it up as a gift too, so you don't pay import tax

I bet you can use the existing wiring an even the all ready instaled switch to turn them on. I think is not that difficult, get your self a voltmeter and work your way from there. I´m not the most quilified member to assist you cause my car didn´t come with standard fogs.

Come on you mates....a little help is needed around here!!!!

If they are the same wattage you should be able to wire them to the existing loom.

I've managed to connect up and test the aftermarket foglight. It works a treat!!

I thought it may interfere with the bulb warning light or something, but nothing at all went wrong.
Simply unplug the loom from the back of the existing fog light.. this has 2 wires in it, just connect up the 2 wires from the new fog light to either of these.
    Man are they bright!
Took me a while to get a decent picture. Looks more yellow in the picture, but it's not, just they angle of the picture. All other pictures I took I got massive glare.

So just waiting for my SRI bumper, then the conversion begins
