I have a 2004 Estate 2.0 Diesel with a similar problem, the spanner light comes on intermittently, loses power and am unable to rev the car at all, this seems to last for about ten or twenty seconds (not good when going 70 on the motorway). If I turn the ignition off the car seems to sort itself out and resents itself - VX are unable to cure this problem despite three visits to them in the last four weeks - anyone got any ideas - three months left on the warranty....?
dont know mate but try another vauxhall garage tell them to get it sorted
I will do that and get them to investigate the creaking issue too....
The car is in VX at the moment - they are going to replace the rad mounting rubbers free of charge and claim to have sorted the "power loss" issues - some kind of sensor (will find out tomorrow exactly which one) - I believe it when I drive it for a few days.....
VX replaced the rad mount rubbers and the accelerator sensor - the car seems fine at the moment...all covered under the VX warranty...Phew!
Took them four full days mind you!
Car still playing up - spanner light comes on - no power!!!
It's going back into VX>>>!!! AGAIN!
Am now going to write to VX HQ (Managing Director) no less to complain about the car and the dealer (Newtown Motors, Cwmbran, South Wales).
Will let you know what happens next?
The fault is now becoming dangerous for me and my family...!
