Strange, cause mine's the opposite. I was showing 47 miles the other day on the way to work. Having forgotten my bank card I was a bit worried beacause it's a 44 mile round trip. However, when I got home I was still showing 16 miles.

MLC kind of off topic a bit but do you find your driver training i.e advanced driving will probably help regarding fuel consumption? I was thinking of doing the IAM course just curious
I would definitely say so. Not because I'm a saint, you just anticipate a lot more. Usually when I sit in somebody else's car , I find myself reacting to hazards or other traffic much sooner than they do. (Ever found yourself pressing the non-existent brake pedal!)
I'm not banging my own drum. I've been an Police advanced driver for eight years and experience is everything. I also probably treat my car more sympathetically than the average driver. Making sure that it's in the most suitable gear for the conditions.
I've got no experience of the IAM course. I've heard it's similar to a Police standard ticket.
All in all, it can't hurt. Go for it.
Thanks mate i actually bought the roadcraft manual a few years back and i think the course would be good. sometimes feel bad habbits creeping into my driving and forget i'm not driving my 1.2 corsa anymore and that the vectra has got some grunt.
230 out of a full tank in mine. More on a real long run
My right foot is quite heavy tho. :
Did 324 miles today and am showing half a tank left!!! If it did another 324 I would be very happy - but I tend to find the last 1/4 sinks rapidly. Am off up to Elsham in Lincs first thing - that's 170 miles each way so could be interesting to see if it would make it. That would be 664 total... you never know?!?!
60 miles today cost me £10!
That was "enjoying" the drive along rural roads on the way back!
