Ok,
You oil burners won't think it's that great - but for a 1.8 Petrol I thought it was pretty good! Especially as a lot of that was spent at outside lane speeds!![]()

I was testing this yesterday..... filled up at home, went to bristol and back, 420 mile round trip, and the gauge was still showing 1/4 full and 68 miles to go...all from a v6 cdti... can't argue with that at all!![]()

I get around 400 miles to the tank generally commuting up the M1 (70 to 85 ish), representing about 36 to 37 mpg in my 2.2 direct auto. I am surprised how much thistier it is around town. As soon as I hit ordinary roads I struggle to do much more than 30mpg. This is possibly where oil burners score the most over petrol.
I don't know how the VX computer calculates the "range" but it always seems a very high (and constant) figure which stays quite high until I'm down to a quarter tank, then the display plummits much quicker than the miles I'm actually covering - even keeping a constant reasonable speed. e.g. the warning comes on at 31 miles, I drive maybe three or four and the display will be say something like 16miles. I think I would have to get out and push it to get 31 miles out of it once the warning has flashed up!
Curious that.
