    Default speedo clocks

    hi all

does anyone know if the facelift clocks fit into the pre facelift and if so are they straight forward to swap?

asking as i only have the 140mph clocks in my veccy but would like to put a set of crome surround 160mph clocks in

    thanks in advance

dunno why u'd want facelift ones tbh, I've got a prefacelift with 160mph clocks with the chrome rings on.

I would have thought they would fit, the onlt difference I recon would be cosmetic.

never had them out, but i would think they'd be a straight swap...but as plasma said, how about a nice set of V6 clocks from a pre facelift.. they'll got to 170 i beleive..

But wouldn't the calibration be out because the numbers are closely stacked together?

    For instance, wouldn't a true 80 mph show as an indicated 87 - 90?

No, I think the calibration is built into the intsrument cluster.

Should fit fine, will there be any canbus/half-canbus issues though as with most electrical elements in the C's?

I've had my pre-facelift clocks apart and successfully fitted silver rings & needles from a pre-facelift SRi to mine, they create the desired effect but I think if a decent set of SRi clocks come up on ebay or the likes I'll probably snap them up as I do like the look of them,

    Mine...

IIRC you just have to pop along to Vauxhall for them to transfer the correct mileage etc. accross to your new clocks via Tech 2

Mines an Pre-facelift Elite mate, that's the exact reason I did my little conversion as it looked a little drab
