Default vectra c steering wheel 2002

    I have a 2002 vectra c 3.2 v6 elite.

I have noticed the plastic bits round the edge of the steering wheel are flaking a bit. Does anyone else have this problem??

Any way to replace these plastic bits? It looked like they might screw off. Could I get brushed metal ones? is so where from?

Or can i just get replacement ones?

    Cheers

easy to fit new switch parts, but its a wheel apart job.

Yep, mine started to do this recently. You can get replacements or the SRi silver version from Vx dealers. They come with the audio controls as part of it - cost about £20 for the pair

No need to take wheel apart - simply undo the Torx screws that hold them in. Access hole on the back of the steering wheel then they just prise off.

they do pull off after unscrewing, but getting the plugs to line up nicely, and clip in, is a nightmare ..

    £20 is pretty reasonable ..

'tis a little bit fiddly, but a bit of dexterity and it's soon done. I've had them off a couple of times now (for different reasons) and never been a big deal to put them back on. If you really wanted, you could remove the airbag but it's a bit unnecessary.

The price is very reasonable - especially as it includes the stereo controls. I was quite surprised at the price!

so you get the delphi push switches for £20.. proper bargain really ..

I consider myself plenty dextrous, I have a feeling the plastic arms the switch units clip to, dont move with the airbag on, but just move theirsleves out of the way with bag off lol..

Yep, a pair of the three button controls with trims for £20 - can't complain, yet a rear ashtray assembly cost £30!! Work that one out! lol
