If I hadn't put an Irmy one on mine that exactly what I would do....
In fact, I still have the original - as a project I might spray it if and see what it looks like anyway - you never know!!
All you need to do now IMO is to change the indicator bulbs to get rid of the orange glow!!
Look's great...although possibly better if you did the chrome strip underneath it too.
