    confused jdl body kits

i bought a body kit from jdltuning for my vectra estate and no garage wants to fit it for me because they say the quality is rubbish and that it wont fit right,
for example, on the rear skirt there are two holes for the reflectors to go in but these rectangular holes are different sizes!! also the side skirts are too big, i dont know if they are designed to go over the black plastic ones but even then they curve out too much and are not flexable enough to be bend round.

has any one else had a problem with a jdl kit?

my front splitter was too wide and would bend enough to fit the lines with the bumper, i used to work in a bodyshop and tbh ive seen a lot worse fitting kits, but with a bit of cutting to the underside of the bumber and a bit off cutting to the splitter and remoulding with p38 & p40 filler i think it fits quite well now, best thing to do would be prep the parts yourself take the bumpers off and fit the splitters yourself and then take them to get sprayed
heres how my splitter turned out not a bad fit after modding

as for the skirts you need to take the front mudflaps and black skirts off and you will prop need to trim the top edge of the skirt to get a nice fit along the sills

    thanks for the reply m8,
how did you attach the splitter to your bumper? my kit came with some screws but where do they screw to without being able to see them?
also the garage i took it to said the quality was rubbish and needed filling all round to make it smooth enough to paint, did you have to do this? also when fitting it did you have to blend the splitter into the bumper?

    cheers for the help

it would prob be easier to explain with pics, will take some later, anyway to fit the splitter i took the front bumper off, then took the original black splitter off the bumper and then with a sharp knife trimmed the groove on the under side of the bumper where the original splitter was attached, then on the jdl splitter there was a few holes and chips on the gel coat so i filled them with p40 and sanded the splitter, i then had to get the grinder out and level out the back of the splitter to ensure a tight fit, lined up the splitter on the bumper drilled my holes and pop riveted the splitter on, u can also use self tapping screws instead of rivets and as my bumper had a few scuffs on it i preped the bumper and splitter and sprayed the whole lot

i now know why the garage didn't want to do this for me,
he only quoted me £150 to fit the whole kit (splitter, side skirts, rear skirt).

im giving up on it and selling the kit i think, will probably go for vxr kit or imrmy.

you dont know any one who's interested do you? ive put it up for sale on the forum.

cheers again for help, i think i bit off more than i could chew with this kit.

I just fitted a JDL Vectra C kit to my car and it went on without too much probs.
A wee bit of filler on the front spoiler and the rest went on fairly easy.
I would highly recommend the guy I bought it from - excellent service.
