    confused Service Intervals ???????

    Hey peeps,

Right heres the thing, have my lovely Vectra just clicking onto 10,000 miles (god thats 6 thousand done by me in 3 months !!! ). I'm not ever so comfortable with having to wait till its done 20,000 miles before service time (or October when it reaches its first birthday)...... but when I spoke to the stealer reference an oil and filter change they practicly told me to F off as it doesnt need it.......
What are the members thoughts on this ? I really want to keep the car at the top of its game so to speak and make sure she purs like a kitten.... well a diesel kitten anyway......
Shall I have it done anyway ? and whats the best oil to go for if i do ignore the stealers advice ?

I have to agree, the service intervals do seem excessive, but providing you stick to them then you shouldn't have any problems
If you think 20K mile intervals are excessive, try the 2 years / 30K miles on the 3.0 V6 CDTI!
I had my reservations about this, especially on a diesel, which normally have more regular service intervals

Using Fully Synthetic oil and special oil filters helps

Which engine is in your Vectra?
    Is it a 1 year / 20K miles, or 2 year / 20K miles service interval?

The stealers stated that its a one year or 20k service....... im more inclined to have it done now its 10k..... it does get the periodic thrashing ...... naughty me
And you would think they would want the cash.....

There is nothing stopping you adding additional oil and filter changes at 10K mile intervals between services, there is NO point doing any other inspections or work
    You can either :
    do these yourself
go to an independent that uses Fully Synthetic oil
    go to a dealership

Make sure you keep the receipts, and if using an agent, have the service book stamped
There is a section at the back of the Service Book for this!

When I had a diesel Rover I did this and split the intermediate services into two of 4K miles, between the major ones at 12K miles
I then supplied the oil filters and National Tyres did the oil and filter change for £5

Just be aware the oil filter on the extended service interval engines are quite exensive...
My oil filter for the 3.0 V6 CDTI was £30, but if I buy three from the Parts Department it is £58

ask the stealer ( or another if they have such a nonchalant attitude ) to do oil and filter . I was quoted £75 to have that done.

even with fully synth 5w30 oil the dealer put it , I will be getting it done once a year, which is 6-10k to me ..

your sig says improve a cdti 150 .. filter box mod and tuning box..
