Had my 6 month old Signum a month and its going back to dealers on Tuesday. Firstly tailgate has started rattling as if it dont fit properly at all. Secondly, there is a clunk in the steering when turning left (possibly related to this is steering wheel vibration at anything over 60mph). I have to say having forked out the most I have ever spent on a car that I am not impressed at all as car has only done 6K. I guess I am about to find out how good the dealer is with customer service. Will keep you posted.

Could be a broken spring m8, common fault.

As Caterman said, clunk could be a broken spring or could need the spring seat mod.

Tailgate rattle can be easily fixed by adjusting the striker plate where the lock clamps onto.

Tailgate fault was actually caused by knackered struts apparently. I cannot believe that a car that is 8 months old with 6k should have faults like this already. It does not bode well for the future does it?
Predictably the Vx technician couldn't find anything wrong with the steering. Immediately after getting the car back I could still feel a definite clunking through the steering wheel. It is most distinct when on roundabouts after turning right and then left. I am an engineer by trade and I suspect this is play/wear in the steering linkage somewhere. Which spring is Caterman referring to above please?

Hi, did they check the power steering fluid level?? my Signum was clunking when going from lock to lock, it ended up the rack was knackered and i had a new one fitted, it had only done 11,000, it's worth taking a look at the level M8
