confused rear interior light mod conection problem's

as above i have fitted my rear interior light today but i do not have the correct wireing harness fitted to connect it up, i only have the rear parking assist plug there
i have read that some people have pulled a wire from the front light to power the rear one, but not one pic avv to show how this has been done or which cables are connected to the pins on the light unit.....the other thing that bothers me is that with my car being full can-bus if i was to do this would it cause a problem or not ????????
i called the dealer and there is a loom avv but it does'nt state wether or not the loom includes the conection for this light and at 50 odd quid order in this is a risk i dont realy want to take.......
so as you can see i am desperatly in need of some help / advice on what the next step is,

so come on all you great people who have done this i need you

    cheers in anticipation,

    rich

    Rich,
I thought it was only the facelifts that had missing cables for the rear light?

When I was looking for my cable, I initially missed it thinking there was no plug, went looking further to the front. I had another look under all the tape & it was there, it's only a small thin plug.

If I remember tomorrow (I'm cleaning the car so it's possible ) I'll fish out my multimeter and give the front light the once-over. See if I can work out which cable is which! This is the way I'm going to do mine, so I have to do it one way or the other!

I've worked all the wiring out now, you need 3 wires to do it properly. I'm knocking up a how2 on how to do it, it's time consuming but not particularly difficult.

Just got to cut my hole now for the rear light!

Is there any issue with the side cutains when dropping the headlining.

I've bought my light in preporation of doing this possibly this weekend but the cutting of lining is putting me off slighly!!

The airbags all appear to be behind their own protective 'bit's. The headlining is just stuck over the top of everything in the car and it's okay to pull it down (just don't tear the ribbon cables!).

I've fitted mine the hard way, soldering wires from the front light. I'll post a How2 later.

Just take your time and be gentle. As long as you don't rip the ribbon cable I found I could be reasonably rough with it. Just make sure you ease the edges out from the rubber seal and it comes away nicely.

I have submitted a How2 for the wiring procedure if you do not have the plug present. Hopefully it will be on soon enough!
