Good ol' US of A service. Levels of service are generally a lot better in USA than in UK for almost everything.

Crucial rock, but why order from crucial US? Were they that much cheaper than crucial UK?

I was looking at a 2GB kit for my lappy from crucial to replace my 1GB. Can't believe it's only £56 these days!

It is isn`t it !! Remember when I started playing with PC building and it was ££££££££&# 163;££££`s !!!! I bought 2, wanted a matching pair so got 2x1gb , I only use crucial as I find cheaper stuff is cr@p !! It is flying along now it`s faster memory than my old 512`s as well so probably helps as well ..

*edit* It was about £9 cheaper from USA , cost £50 for 2gb delivered , from UK it was £59 delivered ...

That's what I was thinking as well (now seen Tommy's subsequent reply). You can tell you're a (fellow) Scot Tommy - getting it shipped from the USA to save £9!

I've used Crucial (UK) several times and they are spot on.

Hmm - methinks I'll be pricing up a 1Gb strip for my laptop to make it 2Gb. Question - it has 1Gb of Toshiba memory (as in what came with the laptop). I should be okay in getting another 1Gb of compatible memory?, or must I get two exact matching pairs of 1Gb to replace the 1Gb it came with? I've always used matching memory on my desktops as I've built them from scratch, but I've never actually upgraded the memory in a laptop.
