Default astra SRi steering wheel on a Vec c ?

well that answers that question..fitted to a pre facelift, 54 plate SRi

06 astra SRi wheel and airbag, all 3 trims match my vec c SRi silver, horn works ( requires a bit of a fiddle, nowt hard ) , stereo buttons I didnt bother with.
20mm less diameter, nicer shape, no knobbles on the rear of the wheel, much nicer

after giving up on getting the airbag (and deciding I needed the cash more) i've now found one, got a 55 plate airbag to fit my facelift steering wheel

so looks like im going to fit this afterall, yours looks great btw

did you fit the steering wheel yourself?

thanks m8, i have a torx screw set, i've seen the screw behind the airbag its quite big so hopefully i have the right size

you mentioned about the wiring for the horn, what did you do there?

and also the steering controls, did you just not bother or was there problems with these as well cause I cant lose my trip computer controls as i've fitted a dvd player in place of the original headunit

    mine is a pre-facelift as well (05)

removed the wiring from the steering wheel.
remove the two brown wires from the loom.
remove the brown wire inserts from the plug.
push both inserts onto the left connections after fitting wheel, onto both left connectors. reconnect on wheel.
    rest of wiring was binned.

your trip computer and cruise are on stalks, these are unaffected

my controls for the trip computer are on the wheel, did you have the older style wheel before then? mine had wheels not buttons - full canbus

edit: just checked your old wheel in for sale sections, i see its the older style with the buttons, i'm now a bit more confident that the wiring will fit without chopping any wires

you should be plug and play then bud ..

I had half canbus 6 button wheel as per pic .

Just pull your airbag out ( disconn battery first obviously ) and you should see exactly the same wires on both wheels
