    Default 3.0 V6 diesel faults??

    Is their any common faults that i should be aware of with the 3.0V6 engine??

    I have a real notion to change my car again(mad i know ) so looks like i may vere towards another engine in the range

    afaicr it's a solid lump, you don't see many ppl posting up faults here about them.

    I had a couple of sensors go but with modern engines and the amount of sensors its not surprising, all engines have these problems!
    Nothing really to look out for with these engines in a vectra or signum as far as I know!
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    As above, the 3.0 seems to be very reliable - not many problems reported on here that I've noticed, other than the usual small things, but no major common problems that I recall.

    only thing is that they are fairly expensive to service, and if you want to do an intermitent oil service you are looking at £35 for the oil filter alone!!

    Does seem to be a pretty reliable lump. A few guys here http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=22836 have had some real serious trouble, particularly willc01. Occasionally happens with every make of mass produced car, unfortunately.

    How do the flywheels hold up compared with the 1.9's anyone had any hassle with them?

    The only fault that i have with mine is that 70mph comes round far to quickly and it is a ****** with speed camera's lol

    I have a 3ltr v6 cdti lump in mine and it is a great deisel engine. It is exactly the same lump in the saab by the way

    I have a mate who has a saab 9-3. He says on his saab central forum they steer clear of the 3.0V6 as they have a habit of dropping the cylinder liners. Aparently thats because the engine bay is much smaller and is much hotter. None of these faults in the VX range
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!
