Default road pricing now before parliment

    Hi,

As per the following BBC article, the Road Pricing Bill is before Parliment:
    Linky....

I suggest that you contact your local MP's and express your views clearly and succinctly. Advise them that your vote for them (whether you voted for them of not!) is in the balance dependant on how they vote in Parliment on this Bill.

You can find out whou your MP is by having a look here:
    Linky....

If your council is one of the 10 that have expressed an interest in this, I would also recommend you contact your council and local councillers on the same vein as above.

The time has come to start acting on this. If we sit idly by, it will be upon us in no time.

over 2 million have signed the online petition and still there trying to go ahead with this. i agree contact your local MP and tell them that ignoring public opinion will result in them being out of a job in the next election.

but to be honest it makes no difference wot we say or do it will happen cos all the goverment know is to tax , tax , tax.

the latest i heard yesterday is that the goverment have asked the revenue and customs to come up with a new tax and they have sugested taxing your transport to work and charging u to park at work.

They will make it sound really bad, then 'back down' a little due to public opinion, but still be at a level they wanted to be at in the first place.

    Vote with your feet.

Yeah, this idea really sucks. I will emigrate if it comes into force, to hell with this rubbish.
I think Labour are just stalling now on this idea for a while until they win the next general election, then it'll be in full swing. Time for a new government methinks.

This government thinks the only solution for many problems is to tax it.
You would think someone in power could come up with a real Integrated Transport Policy, that would reduce congestion without the need to tax lower earners off the road!
