    Default Vx lagging behind!

Just been reading the specs of the new Audi A5 and it really shows how Vx need to shape up with their performance figures/power outputs when the new model "Vectra" comes out. It would be good to see a Coupe version too

The A5 3.0 TDi figures are:
    • 176 kW (240 bhp)
    • 500 Nm of torque
    • 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds
    • Fuel consumption 39.2 mpg (combined)
    • Top speed 155 mph
For the rest of the specs, LINKY

tbh Tony, I used to work for VAG in the 80's, and the 5 cylinder engines they made back then for the Passat and Audi 80 ranges was way quicker than the Ford engine's I'd been used to in my Cort/Cap portfollio, my personal fav was the Santana, such a lovely car in it's day.

Would be great if Vx could pull together a 200bhp+ 3.0 V6 CDTi. As mentioned before though, I think because of marketing reasons they may not do it. I dont think they would want a diesel that would be hot on the heels of a VXR

Hang on, 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds for 240bhp!! Thats quicker than a Astra VXR and that A5's gotta weigh far more. How do they work that out?

The 2.7 V6 cdti with 200 bhp will be available and a 2.9 V6 cdti with 250 bhp and 550 Nm will follow.. I don't think Opel is far behind

Sig63 is right, GM do have a new family of V6 high power diesels that will appear over the coming few years, they won't beseen in Vectra C as they will of course wait until the 'All New Car'

A 170PS 1.9 CDTi is also making it's dbut in th Vectra replacement.

The new A5 looks like a great car. 32k+ for the diesel though.
BM's 335d (3 litre, twin turbo) is even better though - 286bhp, 580Nm Strangely, the 0-60 on that beast isn't as quick as this Audi for some reason
