Default Tyre Insurance...anyone On Here Have It?

I have heard a few people mention this lately, but have never heard of it.
I was just wondering if anyone on here had it?, Where you got it? How much is it? Is it worth it? Whats covered etc?

I have forked out a small fortune on tyres in the past few weeks and insurance is starting to sound favourable!

national tyres do it, but be carefull as the older the tyres the less cover you get, if i remember correctly all punctures are covered though, i will find out the exact details of this kind of thing later if you like as my mate is regional manager for the above company......

Tyre insurance from the tyre fitters is quite expensive and not very good value for money
Yes, it is cheaper, but it only applies to THAT tyre

I had tyre insurance on my previous third party car warranty

RAC used to offer Tyre Insurance, one of the best policies I had seen, but have now stopped it

The AA also offer Tyre Insurance (via resellers) but at £149 per year with a limit of £100 you'd be better off taking out the insurance when you buy the tyres!

Vauxhall Master Cover has a specific Tyre Insurance policy available, although I don't have any prices
    edit : £25 per year
All tyres are covered and you can make up to 4 claims, to a limit of £100 per tyre, including VAT.
Normal wear and tear is not covered
    Contact your local Service Department

A company called Warranty Direct appear to offer Tyre Insurance
    08700 46 86 03

    £38.50 a year
    http://www.protection-insurance.com/car-tyre-pr.shtml
Damage up to £250, punctures up to £50
    01282 417132

    http://www.car2cover.co.uk/quote_tyre_protection.php
    Typically :
    £99 a year
    £159 two years
    £199 three years
    £325 four years
I don't know who did their maths, but that's a big difference between three and four years, and you'd be better off with a one year policy!
Also the maximum is five claims on the policy

I can't believe I have had so many punctures and damaged tyres over the last few years
As a result I added tyre insurance to my third party warranty on my Mondeo, and just as well as I lost three tyres due to punctures

I was about to take out a policy with the RAC, but they have withdrawn it, so will be asking at my local VX dealership on Tuesday
At £25 per year it is the best of them all...
