It's not something you should do yourself unless you have all the tools for the job. A local garage to me quoted 2hrs labour to do the job.

I attended Mark's Gsi3.2 workshop meet's and he done the job for me and a proper job indeed.

Back ones straight forward jack up car ,remove wheel ,loosen one bolt swing arm down and remove spring. Fronts require struts removed to be fitted but if youre mechanically minded no probs

It's one of those jobs where if you know what you're doing, it's a quick easy job, but if you're not the type of person to take cars apart regularly, the prospect of dismantling the front corners is a bit too daunting.

I got mine done by a friendly local mechanic - he did my springs and brake upgrade in about 4 hours, which included many, many cups of tea and a bit of farting about cos the dust guards were grating on the new discs, so I wouldn't think it's too big a job.

If Mark's too busy, have a quiet word with a local garage - ask them if they're interested in doing it as a cash job

Marks back on.....having finally escaped the clutches of welding up Mrs Gsi's ageing Mini....worked every night last week and the weekend on it....

if your mate wants to do them, then fine with me..or i'll still whip them under the car for you..or we could do a live 'demo' at the PVS campsite....
