    Default Baby Seats Again ..

Been down to mothercare today to try the Jane Slalom Pro travel system out, the design of the VXR Recaro`s meant it didn`t fit very well, tried a few different seats out and a few were a poor fit, the women fitter said the seats are very sloped towards the back of the car and this makes the seats sit poorly. The only baby seat which had a decent fit were the graco ones, or I was pleasently surprised to find the car has isofix, and these were a solid fit, but not many of the travel systems use this So I am looking at a Mutsy Urban Rider Pram with a maxi-cosy carrier / car seat which I believe will clip onto the pram ? Anybody have any experience with this pram / car seat ??

It is flippin complicated this !!!

this might be of interest to you m8 but duno if our seats are the same style but we ended up going for the 'graco areosport plus' (black/silver) travel system with the oditional car base for the car seat, only last's until 5/6months old though, next seat is a bit of a head ache though, vx iso-fix (blue/red) or recaro type to match interior colour each weighing it at around the £150 mark, why do they do that to parents, make sure it fits properly and it cost's the ****** earth, dont and put your kids in danger........

Britax Cruiser's, they are a poly shaped seat, and the cars seatbelt loops through, you just place it on the seat and belt them in, easiest car seat I ever used, and also it's wing'd etc to protect from the side.

How about this one then. Little brother needed a 'disabled' car seat, he's 10 so only difference is that it's slightly larger and has a harness instead of using just the seatbelt................£500!!!

Its the only one on the market at the moment so they know they can charge what they want.

but we started with this it has a car base which fitted the GSi seats.

We're using that seat now aswell, have been for a while & it's rock solid. Obviously no good from birth though. Apart from a stint it had of the straps twisting through 180 degrees in the clips some how which was a real pain to twist them back it's been great.
We had a Britax before which wouldn't fit the Vec hence getting the Maxi & I wouldn't go back to the Britax again now.

Currently for our 6 week old we're just using the Graco travel system from our last child as we've learnt it will soon be out grown. We "obtained" a car seat base for it to clip into & that seems fine on my SRI seats.

Bainie, we've got the Jane Salolm Pro Matrix Travel System and the autocot/car seat fits fine.

Okay the seatbelt is almost at max due but it still fits fine. We got ours from www.lullabys.co.uk they wouldn't let us purchase until they had fitted it to both cars to ensure that it was safe.

    Excellent service.

Cheers guys, all info appreciated as i am clueless when it comes to this !! we really like the slalom pro, just the recaros in the vxr slope sharply so the seats don`t sit properly, they said it woul do the job but they would reccomend a better fit, and i am not taking any chances. The musty pram with a maxi cosy seat was from toys r us, not tried halfords yet. Does everyone reccomend a travel system, it seems a lot easier to me if you can unclip it from the pram straight to the car ? Where we are moving to is pretty rough ground so need big wheels on it which rules out the recaro system as well ...

Tommy we bought a maxi cosi cabrio(non Iso) seat for the vectra after trying lots of 0-9 months seats out. This one seemed to fit the best in the rear seat and it came out very highly in every safety test carried out.

We used this seat in conjuction with the Quinny zapp buggy wich allowed us to clip the car seat into it basically like a travel system(use it as a nromal buggy now he is old enough). We thought this was easier especially when we went to glasgow etc for a day out when he was wee as it would have beena nightmare karting a pram everywhere. The downside is we had to buy a pram for using around here, ended up buying a sliver cross one, not cheap but excellent quality.

We did look at all travel systems and decided this was better for us as it gave us options for all eventualities, nimble buggy for scooting round the town and a good solid pram for forest walk's etc...

Far too much choice, especially when you have soooooo many other things to try and think about, plan and buy....
