confused We're jammin...CD in player that is

How do you persuade a cd out of a 2005 cd player? I'm told by the local Vauxhall garage that it's a stereo out job and send away for repair. I've had a bit of a poke about but to no avail. When trying to eject the cd it just rattles around but won't budge. Any thoughts?

    It's a 2002 SRI.

    Cheers

    Bit extreme there Dennis!

I got a CD stuck in mine once, unfurled a paperclip pushed it into the slot and jiggled it about while holding down the eject button, it soon came out.

Changed the stereo soon after, not because it was in any way damaged, just because I wanted MP3's!!

Dennis, it might come to that if I can't get the damn thing out...but I think I'll start with the paper clip and work my way up from that.

There's a thought there Andrew, what kind of unit would work with MP3s? Is there a way to wire up an MP3 player without replacing the whole unit. I'm beginning to go off CDs.

    Cheers

    Thumbs up

    Problem solved peeps

In case you ever need to do this.

Tools required - 2 preferably old CDs, I found a couple of old free computer mag CDs and a pair of pliers

    For a CDR2005

1 While pressing CD eject, carefully slide one CD into the slot and under the jammed CD

2 Slide another CD into the slot on top of the jammed CD

3 What you have is a CD sandwich with the jammed CD in the middle

4 With a pair of pliers grip the CD sandwich firmly and carefully pull out the jammed CD

    5 job done

I extracted 2 CDs that some dumpling had jammed into the machine and now the CD player works just dandy.

    Cheers

Hi all, I had a jammed cd in my cd30 unit, the cd had a paper label and I guess increased its thickness over its limit. What I did was on a 30 mile journey, I turned the heater up in the car and got the car really warm. Then it ejected no problem. My thinking was that maybe if the ambient temperature was high enough, some component somewhere may just have a bit of thermal expansion. It wasnt a 1 off either because the very next morning, it was jammed but after a warm up period, it ejected. I now ensure that my CD's have no paper labels
