Default How to remove the dashboard

Does anyone know how to remove the dash on a veccy C? I want to check that there is a bulb fitted for the trailer warning light.

I tried to access it by going in through the right hand air vent but this didn't work.

Since the haynes manual isn't out till later this year I'm hoping someone would have done this already.

How brave are you? It's quite a number. I can get the procedure for you if you fancy a go.

As for checking for a bulb, it's not going to be a normal bulb as such, it'll be a LED type thing (SMD) attached to a circuit board. If it doesn't have that you can't really add it. I'd have thought the light/feature would be there on all models, it will just be activated when the towbar electrics are fitted and a Tech 2 is done. Maybe worth checking that first before you start to dismantle your dash?

    Hi Duncan

If you can get the procedure then I'd love to have a look. I'm pretty good with electrical stuff, so surface mount isn't a problem.

I will check with the garage though about the Tech2. All the trailer lights work when plugged into the car (using the standard vx module), so I was hoping that the car didn't need Tech2'ing. I think it's about £40 for a vx mechanic to plug in his box and press 5 buttons!

I'll dig it out for you, although I'd say almost 100% that the SMD will be there.

I'm positive the car needs Tech 2ing when a towbar is fitted to activate that feature. Maybe PM Matt or GSi3.2 on here as they've had a good bit of experience with towbars.

Sure it will be a Tech2 job, everything is. Sometimes i'm suprised i can open the petrol flap without a Tech2.
