Default Z19dth egr valve female plug

Hi,i recently had to replace my egr valve.....my car went into limp mode last friday, wouldnt clear the code....at the time it was p2279 intake air whatever,i knew the egr was on the fritz,i had a replacement....my mechanic is off on his hols for few weeks....ive replaced things before like the starter motor myself....so i figured id have to get the egr out myself.....i was having a little trouble with undoing the plug,i released the yellow tab and thought i got it unhooked to release,it came undone eventually....i took out the old egr,it was well clogged up and stuck....i stripped it and gave the original a good thorough cleaning, even putting the mechanical part pf the egr into an ultra sonic cleaner to give it another clean,it turned out one of the valves werent sealing right and was letting out fluid when i went to test the seals after a good clean.so i put on the new part...all was well till i went to put on the female plug...i never heard or felt it clip in,just didnt feel right....seems i accidently broke a clip inside the plug....it was throwing up a p0400 egr malfunction code as times,i put it down to the plug not locking in.....i could clear the code when the plug got wiggled and setted, ive ended up applying some super glue down that side where it should catch the clips...i have a plug coming from a fella who is breaking a car....has anyone ever replaced these plugs?and if so did you have to cut&splice the new plug onto the loom or were you able to undo the pins in the old plug and place onto new working plug....and info be appreciated cheers...
Btw the car os running atm grand....im just very weary about the plug not being 100% solid and know a new plug is the solution....no more fault codes up atm

I've never replaced a plug but it shouldn't be too hard to de-pin the old one and re-pin the replacement. Might be worth buying some de-pinning tools which would make it easier.

Usually you need a paperclip to unpin, it's not that hard but it's not that easy either. Splicing the cables is faster tho

Thanks for the response folks....im just waiting on the parts turning up...i think im just gonna take it to a local auto spark and get them to do it.....im just not too confident in cutting into a loom thats a bit awkward to get at....cheers👍
