ids fault

Does this signify an internal damper fault (ids) or is it something else as damper is not leaking but hit a really bad pothole at speed.

Hi, yes C0580-04 and light on dash is on constantly

If it happened when you hit the pothole, I would check the connectors for proper contact.
Check the resistance of the shock absorber and compare the result with the other shock absorber.
Check the continuity of the wires.
Swap the wires for the right/left shock absorber to see if the fault moves
